Topic: Question About Helping Friends Build Their Homes
Hello, friends!  There's a question I've been itching to ask for some time, and I haven't seen it asked here before.  It is probably something with a simple answer, but, I was unable to participate in the Closed Beta period (joined SanrioTown too late...), it is a subject with which I have no experience.

Anyway, my query is this:
~ Do you have to be in the same guild as the person whose home you are helping to build?

From what I can discern about the hompy system, the actual process of building your home takes a very long time, but the process goes much faster if you have friends to help you.  But, for some reason I think that I read somewhere that in order to help someone with their house, everyone helping needs to be in the same guild.

If that is the case, doesn't it seem a little... limiting?  What if someone decides to play the role of Renegade Home Helper, and wander all over the world helping others with their homes, only to find that they can't help due to the fact that everyone is affiliated with different guilds?

Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated~

I'm pretty sure you don't have to be in the same guild as anyone you're helping as it would defeat the purpose of friendship being promoted in the game; you would just go in and help build the house as long as you knew where their farm was.

That's what I feel like, too.  I can't shake the feeling that I thought that I had read about needing to be in the same guild... maybe I just dreamed it? XD

Ah, but you DID have to be in the same guild before.  Probably still will be.

We had entire guilds helping out folks, and then they'd leave the guild and join another.

Nothing's stopping folks from leaving and rejoining, and other than the house building benefit, there was none for guilds... yet.

Perhaps the next round of beta will add some.

Ah-ha!!  I knew that my suspicions had to be founded in some kind of reality...

That seems so weird, though.  I hope that that changes in the final version of the game.  :\

Thanks for giving me a straight answer!  It's exactly what I was looking for!

Hmm... If I remember correctly -- from playing the game, you don't have to be part of the same guild. It's just that, when someone's looking for help with building his/her house, he/she usually sends a message to his/her guild. Which is why it's usually guildmates who help :/

I think.

Nope, this time around, you're not right.

The only way to help someone with their house in the last test was to be in the same guild.  It's one of the reasons the Pika and Sailor Scout guilds built so many houses; once we finished with one, we jumped right to the next, and as guildmates logged in, we let each other know which land plot to head to.

Tom is right, that's the reason why I had to leave my previous guild to join the Sailor Scouts. Would have been better if people on the friends list are able to help even if they are not in the same guild though. Otherwise, a party system would make more sense compared to a guild system if people are just joining and leaving again to get houses built. It sort of defeats the purpose of having guilds?

ripple was MIA. Hahahaha... sheesh it's August already. Time really flies~

I agree, I don't see why players should have to be in the same guild to help each other to build houses when the game is supposed to promote teamwork and friendship. Then again, it can help strengthen ties in active guilds, since it's something guild members can do together.

yeah and not only was it that you had to be in the same guild to help build... only 5 guild members could build at a time.
